東京都千代田区駿河台と文京区湯島にまたがり、本郷通り（都道403号）を結んでいる。御茶ノ水駅の東端にある。放物線を描くアーチ橋で、形式は鉄筋コンクリートアーチ橋。昭和2年（1927年）に完成した。　名前は東京府東京市（現：東京都）が公募し、両岸に位置する2つの聖堂（湯島聖堂とニコライ堂）を結ぶことから「聖橋」と命名された。

千代田区側駿河台と文京区側湯島台を分かつ神田川に架かる橋。ちなみに神田明神は本郷台地・湯島台の末端の高台に位置している。

湯島''聖''堂と復活大''聖''堂(ニコライ堂)を繋ぐから聖橋。ここの秋葉原側の歩道から丸ノ内線御茶ノ水駅に向かうのは、結構な遠回りが必要です。
