横浜三塔の一つ「クイーンの塔」で 1934 年竣工の鉄骨鉄筋コンクリート構造、高さ 51m は完成当時の横浜で最も高かった。すぐ横にある県庁本庁舎より高いのは、資料展示室によれば「国の施設が県の施設より低いのはいかがなものか」という理由らしい。
